The most accurate way to measure your ring size at home is to wear a real plastic ring sizer for a few hours and check the fit with the Bend and Twist method. Skip the printable paper sizers, measure at a few different times of day, and account for your finger shape and the season. Here is the full method, step by step.
| 5 to 16 US Sizer Range | 3 Fit Types | 1/4 Size Precision Available |
A physical ring sizer is the most accurate way to size your finger at home. It is a set of adjustable plastic bands you actually wear, so you feel the real fit instead of trusting a number off a screen. Revolution sizers cover US sizes 5 to 16 and include most half sizes.
We do not recommend online printable ring sizers. Paper stretches, screens scale differently, and a millimeter of error can be a full ring size off. A real sizer removes the guesswork, and if you land between two sizes, some rings can be made in a quarter size for an exact fit.
The Bend and Twist method is how you confirm a sizer actually fits. Once a sizer is over your knuckle, you should feel a little resistance when taking it off. To remove it, bend your knuckle slightly and twist, rather than pulling it straight back, which catches the skin and gives a false reading.
Your finger size genuinely fluctuates with temperature and activity, which is why you should measure more than once. In warmer months the ring will fit tighter, and in cooler months it will fit looser. The same swing happens after a workout, a salty meal, or first thing in the morning.
Test the sizer at a few different points in the day to find your true middle. The goal is a ring that goes on with a little effort and stays put, never one so loose it can catch on something and slip off.
Fit type changes how a given size feels, so it is worth knowing before you order. Most Revolution rings are comfort-fit, with a rounded interior that slides on easily and reduces friction for daily wear.
Where your finger is widest decides how the ring should sit. If your finger is largest at the base, the ring should fit snugly there without leaving an indent. If it is largest at the knuckle, you want to be able to get it on and off with a slight twist.
Sizing comes down to personal preference, and no one else can tell you what feels right. Some guys like a slightly looser band, some like it snug. As long as there is some resistance coming off, you have a size that will stay where it belongs.
The simplest path to a perfect fit: select "Send me a Ring Sizer Kit First" on the product page. When ordered with a ring, sizers are free and generally ship the next business day. Once you know your size, confirm it online or email contact@revolutionjewelry.com and we will schedule your ring for production.
The most reliable no-sizer option is to have a ring you already wear measured, noting which finger it fits. We do not recommend printable paper sizers, as they are easily off by a full size. A free plastic sizer kit is the safest route.
It is how you check fit: with the sizer over your knuckle, bend the knuckle slightly and twist to remove it instead of pulling straight back. You should feel a little resistance, which means the ring will stay on.
If you fall between two sizes, many of our rings can be made in a quarter size for an exact fit. If you must choose, a slightly snug fit is usually safer than a loose one, since fingers swell in heat and shrink in cold.
Yes. Fingers are smallest when you are cold or first thing in the morning, and largest after heat, exercise, or salty food. Measure at a few different times to find your true everyday size.
When you order a ring, you can choose to have a sizer kit sent first at no cost, though a small shipping fee may apply. Sizers cover US sizes 5 to 16 with most half sizes and generally ship the next business day.
