How Wood Inlay Is Made

The process is more precise than it looks. Here's what goes into a wood inlay ring:

Precision-machined channel

The metal band is machined with an exact channel sized to accept the wood inlay — flush, not proud. The fit has to be perfect before the wood ever touches it.

Wood cut and shaped

The wood is cut into thin slices and carefully shaped to fit the channel exactly. Grain direction matters — it's chosen to show the most character.

Set flush and sealed

The inlay is set so the wood sits flush with the metal surface — not glued on top of it. Then sealed to protect against moisture and daily contact. That's the difference between craftsmanship and assembly.

Caring for a Wood Inlay Ring

Clean with a soft dry cloth. No harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
Oil occasionally. A small amount of tung oil or mineral oil keeps the wood hydrated and maintains its finish. Once every few months is plenty.
