How to Use Ring Sizers

If you’re not used to wearing a ring, most things will feel too tight to start. However, getting the ring too loose can cause it to catch on things or possibly fall off and become lost.

Your finger can fluctuate in size throughout the day due to temperature and activity. In warmer months the ring will fit tighter, in cooler months it will fit looser.

Finger shape plays a part in fit. If your finger is largest at the base, the ring should fit snugly there without causing an indent. If largest at the knuckle, you should be able to get it on and off with a slight twist.

When sizing, use the Bend and Twist method — once a sizer is over your knuckle, bend slightly and twist to remove. Don’t pull straight back. Wear the sizer for a while and test it at different times of day.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Pop out a sizer and find one that fits comfortably but stays in place and does not fall off your finger.

  2. Shake your hand around a little and make sure the sizer stays in place.

  3. Try putting it on and off a couple times.

  4. Wear the sizer for a couple hours and make sure it feels comfortable during your usual routine. Please be aware — while the sizers are only in half sizes, some rings are available in quarter sizes. If you’re between two sizes, we may be able to make your ring in a quarter size.

  5. Once you know what sizer fits best, look at the tab on the sizer for your size. You can submit your size online or email us at contact@revolutionjewelry.com with the size you need and we will get started on your ring the following business day.

Sizing comes down to personal preference — there is no way for anyone else to know what size you will like best. Some people prefer their ring a little looser, some a little tighter. There should at least be some resistance in taking the ring off in order to prevent it from falling off.
