Custom Ring Design
An interior sleeve is a liner of a second material that runs all the way around the inside of your wedding band. Everyone else sees the outside of the ring. The sleeve is the part that sits against your skin, and the part you see every time you take the ring off.

One
An inlay sits in a channel on the outside of the band. A sleeve lines the inside. Same idea, a second material set into the ring, but on opposite sides of the metal.
That makes the two easy to combine. A ring can carry a meteorite or gold inlay on the outside and a completely different material on the inside, so you get two looks in one band. Our guide to ring inlays covers the outside half.
Two
Because it lets you keep the outside simple and still make the ring personal. Guys choose a sleeve for three reasons:
Three
Almost anything you would put on the outside of a ring. In our ring builder, the sleeve options fall into six groups:
Select finished designs also carry DiamondCast and Dichrolam sleeves, covered below.
Four
If you want a classic gold ring and a modern one at the same time, yes. A gold sleeve puts the warmth of gold against your skin and lets the outside be something tougher or darker: black zirconium, forged carbon fiber, Damascus steel, or titanium.
Rose gold inside a black band is the most dramatic version. Yellow gold inside Damascus reads more traditional. White gold inside titanium keeps everything cool and quiet. Try a rose gold sleeve in titanium
Five
Put it inside with a Cerakote sleeve. Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating, and on the inside of the band it gives you a hit of color that only shows when you want it to.
There are more than 40 colors to pick from, from crimson and hunter orange to navy, teal, and metallic finishes like rose gold and bronze. Your team colors, your truck’s paint, or the color of your wedding: it all fits inside a plain band. Browse Cerakote rings
Build It Inside Out
Six
They are the two sleeves built for sparkle and shimmer. DiamondCast is a blend of real diamond dust and resin, so the inside of the ring catches light with a fine glitter. Dichrolam is a layered, iridescent material that shifts color as the light changes, protected by a layer of resin.
DiamondCast comes in several colors, from silver to amethyst to emerald green, and both pair well with a matte outside, where the contrast does the work. See DiamondCast rings or see Dichrolam rings.
The short version
The outside is for the room. The inside is for you.
Pick the outside for how the ring looks every day, then pick the sleeve for what it means to you: gold for warmth, Cerakote for color, DiamondCast or Dichrolam for something that catches the light.
FAQ
What is a sleeve on a wedding ring?
A sleeve is a liner of a second material that runs around the inside of the band. It is the part of the ring that touches your skin.
What is the difference between an inlay and a sleeve?
An inlay sits in a channel on the outside of the ring. A sleeve lines the inside. One ring can have both.
Can I put a gold sleeve inside a titanium ring?
Yes. Our ring builder offers 10K, 14K, and 18K gold sleeves in yellow, rose, and white, plus 22K yellow gold, inside a titanium band.
Can people see the sleeve when I wear the ring?
Mostly no. You catch a thin line of it at the edges of the band, and the full sleeve shows when you take the ring off.
Which sleeve is best for sensitive skin?
Tantalum or zirconium. Both are on our sleeve list, and both are metals we rate top marks for sensitive skin.
